De-clutter -This is the most important tip. A cluttered home doesn’t photograph well and
can also make spaces appear much smaller.
 

Bathrooms:


  • Clear counter tops of all personal items. Such as toothbrushes, soaps, razors 

  • Wipe down any mirrors

  • Replace or check all light bulbs. Make sure same color bulbs.

  • Remove shampoos,razors and soaps from showers.

  • Pick up rugs and shower mats

  • Close toilet lids, and remove toilet brush or plungers

  • Put out fresh towels


Living Areas:

 

  • Family portraits, offensive art and sports team memorabilia should be put away when possible

  • Replace or check all light bulbs. More light means better photos.

  • Clean windows, dust , vacuum or mop floors.

  • Straighten tables and chairs, arrange cushions attractively

  • Secure any pets or move out of sight

 

Kitchen:


  • Clear counter tops , we want to show off the space and counters

  • Put away blenders, toasters, coffee makers etc.

  • Remove from fridge any magnets, pictures, or decorations.

  • Replace or check all light bulbs. More light means better photos.

  • Remove any dishes in sink ,towels, and soaps.

  • Hide garbage bins.

  • Pets - Hide any water/food bowls and toys.

  • Add a bowl of fruit or fresh flowers to add color


Front of House:


  • Lawn Trimmed - Neatly trimmed and manicured lawns always photograph better.

  • Remove vehicles from driveway and front of house

  • Move trash cans so they are out of sight.

  • Wrap up any water hoses

  • Remove any ladders, tools, toys etc.

  • Secure any pets or move out of sight

 

Bedrooms:


  • Make all beds, align bed skirts, and fluff pillows.

  • Hide away clothes, shoes and laundry baskets.

  • Remove phone chargers , books, tissue boxes from bedside tables.

  • Hide Tv Remotes

  • Replace or check all light bulbs. More light means better photos.

  • Remove portable fans, and heaters.

  • Family portraits, offensive art and sports team memorabilia should be put away when possible.

  • Hide any dog beds and toys.


Back of House:

 

  • Lawn Trimmed - Neatly trimmed and manicured lawns always photograph better.

  • Move trash cans so they are out of sight.

  • Wrap up any water hoses

  • Remove any ladders, tools, toys etc.

  • Open patio umbrellas or awnings.

  • Clean pool and remove pool toys, or floats.

  • Clean up after any pets. Hide any water/food bowls and toys.

  • Secure any pets or move out of sight
